business, Caster Concepts, Inc. memorializes founder Richard H. Dobbins through the
establishment of the Manufacturing Education Fund at the Albion Community
Foundation. Richard \"Dick\" Dobbins was Vice President of Manufacturing at Albion
Malleable. He later became President of Albion Industries and worked there until he
retired in 1987. Upon his retirement, Dick founded Caster Concepts where he remained
involved until his death. He graduated from St. Peter and Paul Academy in Ionia and
attended Michigan State College where he received a degree in Mechanical
Engineering. He later attended the Advanced Business Program at Harvard Graduate
School of Business Administration.

This isn\'t the first time Caster Concepts, Inc. has stepped forward to help improve
the quality of life in the greater Albion area. Caster Concepts, Inc. was a leader
in the Victory Park playground build, was instrumental in the Swinging at the Shell
summer concert series, and it\'s employees continue to be top givers to the United
Way annual campaign, just to name a few.

Because Caster Concepts, Inc. established a Donor Advised Fund with its gift, the
company will make regular recommendations on how the fund is used, working with the
community foundation\'s professional grantmaking staff to target areas of community
need within the funds field of interest.

for the State of Michigan Tax Credit for Community Foundations. The law permits a
taxpayer to reduce Michigan income tax liability by a credit of 50 percent of the
amount contributed to a community foundation, subject to a maximum credit of $100
for an individual filing singly (for a $200 donation) and 200 for a married couple
filing jointly (based on a $400 donation).
